Columbia's Mayor Steve Benjamin held the first-ever social media, live streaming town hall in South Carolina on October 17, 2012. The voices and concerns of Columbia citizens are important to the Mayor so he provided the opportunity to not only hear their questions, but to also address them.

Citizens had the chance to tweet their questions to the Mayor using the hash tag #AskMayorB or post them on Facebook. Mayor Benjamin was able to immediately address these issues, from safety in Five Points all the way to how to make Columbia more bicycle, pedestrian friendliness.
