The City of Columbia Municipal Board of Canvassers (Municipal Election Commission) met on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 9:07 a.m. to determine the validity of ballots challenged.

§                    There were no Failsafe Ballots

The City of Columbia Municipal Election Commission also certified the results of the City of Columbia Special Election for District II held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010. The official results can be found at http://www.columbiasc.net/clerksoffice.

A run-off election is scheduled for Tuesday, July 27, 2010 between the following candidates for the City Council District II seat:

§                    Brian DeQuincey Newman              386 votes

§                    Harold “Puff” Howard                      318 votes
