Mayor Coble to Speak at Greater Columbia Community Relations Council 46th Annual Luncheon
The Greater Columbia Community Relations Council (CRC) will hold its 46th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street. Mayor Bob Coble will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Tickets for this event are available to the public at the cost of $35 per person and must be purchased in advance by contacting the CRC office at 803.733.1130.

The City of Columbia is now accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 year for Hospitality Tax, Accommodations Tax, and Community Promotions Funding.

HOUSING OPPORTUNITES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS (HOPWA)
 
The HOPWA program addresses the needs of low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families by providing emergency and permanent housing assistance and related supportive services. The HOPWA entitlement amount for FY 2008-09 is $1,138,000 for the City of Columbia and the surrounding six counties of Calhoun, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington, Richland, and Saluda.

All City of Columbia HOPWA grant awards are made through a competitive application process based on client needs, gaps in service, and ability of the agency to successfully implement the program. The City expects all funding requests to be of high quality, demonstrate financial reasonableness, and adequately fulfill a gap in services.
