Mayor Coble to Speak at Greater Columbia Community Relations Council 46th Annual Luncheon
The Greater Columbia Community Relations Council (CRC) will hold its 46th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street. Mayor Bob Coble will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Tickets for this event are available to the public at the cost of $35 per person and must be purchased in advance by contacting the CRC office at 803.733.1130.

The City of Columbia is now accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 year for Hospitality Tax, Accommodations Tax, and Community Promotions Funding.

Sign Up Now For City of Columbia E-Bills! Go Green by Going Paperless!
City of Columbia customers now have the option of receiving and viewing their water, solid waste or parking garage bills online. Columbia’s new electronic billing (e-billing) service enhances the City’s existing Customer Web Access (CWA), Online Payment System. This initiative also aligns with Columbia’s commitment to “Go-Green”, while continuing to provide quality customer service. E-billing saves money on postal fees, paper and ink and most notably, e-billing helps preserve trees and control landfills.

Changes in Polling Locations For the 2010 Municipal Election
A revised polling locations list has been provided by the Richland County Election Commission. To download a copy of the list, click the link below. To pick up a hard copy of the list, citizens can contact the Public Relations Department at (803)545-3020 or visit City Hall located at 1737 Main Street. If voters have questions regarding where they can vote, they may contact the Richland County Voter Registration Office at (803)576-2240.
Register Now For the Parks & Recreation 2010 Summer Program
Registration is now being accepted at all participating locations and the Parks and Recreation administration office, 1932 Calhoun Street. Summer camps begin on June 1st. The cost is $45 per week per child and there are no registration fees. Click the link above for more information.
Participate in the U.S. Census 2010
2010 Census forms are being mailed in mid March and should be mailed back by April 1st. Census information affects the numbers of seats our state occupies in the U.S. House of Representatives. The information the census collects also helps to determine how more than $400 billion dollars of federal funding each year is spent on infrastructure and services like hospitals, schools, emergency services and public works projects.

Public Hearing to be Held on Changing the Form of Government
The Columbia City Council will hold a Public Hearing to get feedback from citizens on the possibility of changing the municipal form of government. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 6:00pm at Pontiac Elementary School, located at 500 Spears Creek Church Road. The public is encouraged to attend. The purpose of this meeting is to inform citizens of the SC Statutes that regulate the way citizens can change the form of government. Attendees will also learn about the 3 forms of municipal government.
