Job Title: ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN II (FIELD TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT)
Pay: $32,001/Annual
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to perform technical engineering and administrative work to support the design, development and implementation of City water / sewer / storm drainage projects, to provide professional customer service, and to perform related work as required.
 
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED supplemented by one (1) year of college education or advanced specialized training in engineering technology or closely related field, with four (4) years work experience in performing water flow testing, investigating water system problems and determining water quality problems and solutions; or, any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.
 
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class "D" Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment utilizing Microsoft Office 2000 preferred, with skill in the use of spreadsheet software programs, doing data entry and working in a mainframe environment, as well as skill in the use of AutoCAD and ArcInfo/ArcView software programs. Preference may be given to applicants who possess and maintain Water Distribution Operator Certificate as issued by the S.C. Environmental Certification Board or can obtain same within one (1) year from date of hire or promotion.
