Job Title: AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN I/SS
Pay: $27,378/ ANNUAL PLUS (+) 10% DIFFERENTIAL FOR SECOND SHIFT HOURS WORKED
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to perform skilled mechanical repair work on City-owned automobiles, trucks and other light-to-heavy equipment, ensuring that repaired vehicles run properly and safely; to perform preventive maintenance on such equipment as scheduled, and to perform related work as required.
 
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED with two (2) years work experience as an automobile mechanic in the maintenance and repair of a variety of automotive equipment to include automobiles, trucks and small engines including repairing engines, fuel injection systems, electronic engine controls, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems, etc; or, any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.
 
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class "D" Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record. Must be at work on time and maintain a minimum degree of absenteeism.
