Columbia City Council will give first reading to the proposed FY 2013/2014 budget on Tuesday June 4, 2013 during the regular scheduled meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m.
In addition to first reading of the budget, City Council will give first reading to the proposed rate and fee increases for Parks & Recreation facility rentals and other recreation programs and first reading of the Hazardous Materials Cost Recovery and Registration ordinances.
This Sunday, May 26th, is the 15th Annual Memorial Sunday concert by the Palmetto Concert Band. It will be held at the Koger Center for the Arts, located at 1051 Greene Street. The City of Columbia and USC want to treat the public to a family-friendly concert for which there is no admission charge.

|Nature of Work|
|The purpose of this position is to interpret, analyze, recommend and implement management information systems; to develop and implement computer software application programs and systems for user departments; to implement and maintain network infrastructure, applications and computer systems, and to perform related professional and technical work as required.|
|Bachelor’s degree in computer science, network engineering, or closely related field with two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in implementing and maintaining network infrastructure, applications and computer systems; programming skills preferred; or an Associate’s degree with four (4) years of relevant information technology experience. Preference may be given to applicants who have experience in the use of Microsoft SQL, City Works and/or ESRI’s GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping software. |
|Special Requirements: |
|Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal and peripheral equipment with skill in doing data entry and in the use of Microsoft Office 2003/2007-Windows 7 preferred, utilizing Outlook and all associated software programs, as well as OS Systems Management. Must be able to work overtime as needed in order to accomplish assigned work. Will be required to provide twenty-four (24/7) hour maintenance support on an on-call basis. |
