Mayor Coble to Speak at Greater Columbia Community Relations Council 46th Annual Luncheon
The Greater Columbia Community Relations Council (CRC) will hold its 46th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street. Mayor Bob Coble will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Tickets for this event are available to the public at the cost of $35 per person and must be purchased in advance by contacting the CRC office at 803.733.1130.

The City of Columbia is now accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 year for Hospitality Tax, Accommodations Tax, and Community Promotions Funding.

Job Title: PARK RANGER I
Pay: $24,295/Annually
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to perform diverse duties in the daily day-to-day operation, maintenance and patrol of the Three Rivers Greenway and related City of Columbia facilities under general limited supervision. Work involves being responsible for the safety and security of parks and patrons. Work also involves exercising tact and courtesy in contact with the public, distributing general information and leading educational and recreational programs.
 
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in park management or closely related field preferred with one (1) year work experience in parks and grounds maintenance highly desirable; or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.
 
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to express ideas clearly and concisely orally and in writing. May be required to work overtime, weekends, holidays, etc., as needed in order to accomplish assigned work on a forty-hour (40) rotating basis.
