Job Title: PARKS SUPERINTENDENT
Pay: $53,579 / Annual
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to plan, direct and participate in the development, construction and maintenance of City parks and recreational facilities, and to perform related professional, administrative and supervisory work as required.
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, parks administration or closely related field with eight (8) years work experience in planning, directing and participating in the development, construction and maintenance of City parks and recreational facilities to meet the recreational needs of the community; supervises duties of division staff to include instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; ensures staff compliance with all department and City policies and procedures, standards of quality and safety, and all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations; or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
 
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Must possess Landscape Architect registration. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
