Job Title: WATER PLANT OPERATOR I (COLUMBIA CANAL)
Pay: $28,919 / ANNUAL
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to perform skilled technical and manual work in the daily operation of an assigned City water treatment plant; to prepare and maintain required records and reports, and to perform related work as required.
 
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED with some work experience in water plant operations to include start up and shut down; regulate and adjust motors, pumps, compressors, grinders, blowers, valves and other plant equipment; or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
 
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Must possess and maintain or be able to obtain a Class “D” Water Treatment Plant Operator License within six (6) months from date of hire or promotion.
 
Special Notes:
Will be required to work twelve (12) hour rotating shifts.
