The City of Columbia offers Accommodations and Hospitality Tax grants to eligible organizations and or projects/events.

THE ANNUAL APPLICATION PROCESS FOR HOSPITALITY AND ACCOMMODATIONS TAX GRANTS FOR THE 2019-2020 FISCAL YEAR WILL BEGIN JANUARY OF 2019.

Accommodations Tax Grants (Applications Available Jan 2019 / Due Date to be determined) provide financial support to non-profit organizations and their projects/events whose mission is to attract tourists by promoting overnight accommodations in the City of Columbia. To be eligible, your organization must be a nonprofit with documentation from the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Office, with activities in the City of Columbia. It is the intent of this committee to fund the Columbia Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau and Capital City Lake Murray for fiscal year 2018-2019. Hospitality Tax Grants (Applications Available Jan 2019 /Due Date to be determined) provide financial support to non-profit organizations and their projects/events whose mission is to attract tourists by promoting dining in the City of Columbia. To be eligible, your organization must be a nonprofit with documentation from the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Office, with activities in the City of Columbia. The City of Columbia is now accepting applications for General Fund Grants. This grant is generally for organizations that do not qualify for Hospitality nor Accommodations Tax funding and meet the following criteria:
-Projects/Events must be held within the City of Columbia city limits.
-Only non-profit or charitable organizations are eligible to submit applications.
-Applications are for projects/events that occur between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.
-Requests must come in the form of an application. No letters or email requests will be considered. Any organization that has submitted a letter or email to request funding will need to submit the appropriate application.
Applications are due Friday, November 30th by 12:00 pm. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Upon availability, General Fund dollars, via this grant, provide financial support to non-profit or charitable organizations within the City of Columbia. Applications for Community Promotions Grants will be available once funds (if any) are allocated after fiscal year end.
