Park Ranger - Outdoor Programs
Columbia’s Park Rangers have three primary areas of responsibility; maintenance, public safety and park protection, and interpretive programming. Each one of these responsibilities encourages the proper use of city parks through education.
Park Ranger Walks every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at Riverfront South. Join the Park Rangers for walks and talks on fish, birds, plants, insects, and the fall line.
Kayak trips on the Columbia Canal/Broad River.
Join the city of
Columbia Parks and Recreation Park Rangers for a float trip down the historic
Columbia
Canal and/or
Broad River for a guided tour to see nature at its best. Catch glimpses of animals ranging from Herons, Turtles, King Fishers and Bald Eagles as well as unique plants like the Rocky Shoal Spider Lily.
Boat, paddle, and PFD provided; no experience necessary. Guided kayak trips will be offered throughout the summer.
Email Park Ranger Andy Grizzell at agrizzell@columbiasc.net to set up your next outdoor adventure. A minimum of five participants required for each trip with a maximum of 15 participants. The cost is $$30 per person

This is a great way for your group of 10-15 to give back to the community. For more information email avgrizzell@columbiasc.net Kayaking experience required.
Wee Wild Ones! Bring your children to the Riverfront Park Amphitheater on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. for story time with Park Ranger Ed.
