The City of Columbia's Public Relations, Marketing and Media Department serves as the primary link between the City and the news media as well as the support office for other City departments' public relations. Our department also processes Freedom of Information Act requests. We provide the community with information about City services, programs and events through a variety of channels. PR manages operations for CityTV (Channel 2). We coordinate special events for the City as well as publish/print newsletters, Columbia's annual report and calendar. Our office is located on the first floor of City Hall (1737 Main Street PO Box 147 Columbia, SC 29217). You may contact the Public Relations Department at (803) 545-3020. Individuals filing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests are asked to use the City's FOIA request form or submit a letter. All requests are to be signed. Requests are to be faxed (803-343-8719), mailed (City of Columbia Attn: Public Relations Dept. PO Box 147 Columbia, SC 29217) or hand-delivered (1737 Main Street (City Hall-corner of Main and Laurel Streets). Hand-delivered request should be left with the CSO(security officer) located in the front entrance (Main Street) of City Hall.
