The Mayor's Campaign Against Breast Cancer Committee will host the 2008
Isabel Law Breast Cancer Breakfast on Friday, October 3rd in the City
Hall parking lot (1737 Main Street)  Tickets are $7.  The breakfast will
be held from 6-9am.  Citizens can come and enjoy a hot southern style
breakfast while contributing to a worthy cause that affects the lives of
so many of our citizens.  Staff of the City's Public Works department
will be cooking our usual delicious menu of bacon, eggs, sausage, hash
browns, grits, pancakes, biscuits and liver pudding!  Coffee and juice
will also be served.

Everyone who purchases a breakfast will receive a gift from the Mayor
Bob's Campaign Against Breast Cancer Committee.  Funds raised will go to
the purchase of special bras for women who have had a mastectomy.  To-go
plates are also available.  Individuals who need 3 or more to-go plates,
please call Connie at 545-3075 or e-mail her at cflucius@columbiasc.net
by noon on Thursday, and inform her of the time and the number of plates
needed.

If a person cannot attend but would like to make a donation, make your
check payable to Mayor's Campaign Against Breast Cancer, and send it to
the attention of Julie Ruff,  Special Assistant to the Mayor; PO Box 147
Columbia, SC 29217.

A special part of this year's breakfast is that it has been renamed the
Isabel Law Breast Cancer Breakfast; in memory of the late Ms. Isabel
Law.  Isabel was a dedicated member of Mayor's Campaign Against Breast
Cancer Committee.  Isabel, was a Registered Nurse at the Baptist campus
of Palmetto Health; a nurse navigator for breast cancer patients.  She
was a 26 year breast cancer survivor and was memorialized at her funeral
which was held on September 19, 2008.  Isabel will truly be missed but
her memory will live on as the fight against cancer continues.  She
served as an advocate for progress in cancer research for all of our
citizens who are battling this disease.
