​City of Columbia Announces #LoveColumbia 2016 Photo Challenge Winners
The #LoveColumbia Photo Challenge is a City initiative that encouraged citizens of Columbia to submit photos via social media of the images they love in the City. Through the photo challenge, citizens were invited to explore our picturesque city. The following winners unveiled their images on Tuesday, August 16, 2015, during the City Council meeting: Facebook – Bryan Hall, Twitter – Katia Lee and Instagram – Melanie Matthews. The winning photos and biography for each winner will be featured in the Gallery at City Hall, the city’s website and in the Public and Media Relations Department’s publications.

City Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to City of Columbia by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
Councilwoman Devine Selected to Participate in Women in Government Leadership Program
Governing Institute’s Women in Government Leadership Program brings together outstanding elected women leaders from across the nation to acknowledge their contributions, provide leadership development, and to mentor the next generation of women leaders to run for office. The first two classes completed their yearlong curriculums in 2015 and 2016, respectively. The 50 alumnae of the program are now “paying it forward” recruiting women candidates around the U.S.

To continue to provide customers the ability to make in-office payments with a debit/credit card, the City has partnered with Value Payment Systems. Effective Sept. 15, in-office debit/credit card payments will now include a convenience fee.How do I make a Freedom of Information Act Request?
