| | | | << Back To Listing | | | | Job Title: | WATER PLANT LEAD OPERATOR (COLUMBIA CANAL WATER PLANT) | | Pay: | $36,993 - $48,091/ANNUAL | | Nature of Work | | The purpose of this position is to perform skilled technical and manual work in the daily operation of an assigned water treatment plant; to direct and provide instruction and leadership to lower-level operators as assigned; to prepare and maintain required records and reports, and to perform related work as required. | | | | Qualifications: | | Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED. Preference may be given to applicants with at least one (1) year of college education in biology, chemistry, utility plant operations, or a closely related field as well as some work experience in a water plant. | | | | Special Requirements: | | Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Selected applicant must pass a respiratory physical in compliance with O.S.H.A. Regulation 1910.134 Section (b). Must possess and maintain or be able to obtain a Class “B” Water Treatment Plant Operator’s License within six (6) months from date of hire. Must possess and maintain or be able to obtain a Class “A” certification within one (1) year from date of hire. Will be required to work twelve (12) hour rotating shifts. Will be required to work additional hours, and some holidays and weekends in order to accomplish assigned work. | | | | Special Notes: | | Will be required to demonstrate competency and complete the necessary requirements in the Apprenticeship Program for Water Plant Lead Operators. | | | |
