Let’s Move! Columbia GameDay - September 20th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Let’s Move! Columbia GameDay is back to offer a fun day of activities for the entire family. There will be a 3K race, field games, scavenger hunt, musical chairs, local dance and step teams, exhibitors and more! Attendees also have the chance to learn more about ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle. GameDay also includes a celebrity flag football game.
Columbia Ranks No. 1 in the Country in Fighting Childhood Obesity through Let’s Move!
The National League of Cities (NLC) has ranked Columbia No. 1 in the country in addressing childhood obesity after completing key health and wellness goals for Let’s Move! Cities, Towns and Counties.
City of Columbia’s Annual National Night Out Kickoff Bringing Community Together
The City Of Columbia will be hosting the seventh annual National Night Out Kickoff on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Finlay Park, located at 930 Laurel St., from 6-10 p.m. National Night Out, a yearlong community building campaign, is designed to: (1) heighten crime prevention awareness, (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and (4) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. This event is free and open to the public.
Multi-Use Venue Development Agreement
The Multi-Use Venue Development Agreement represents negotiations between the City of Columbia, Hughes Development Corporation and Hardball Capital for the design and construction of the Multi-Use Entertainment Venue planned as part of the Columbia Common (Bull Street) Development. The Multi Use Entertainment Venue is scheduled to be complete in March of 2016, with the first pitch of Baseball being planned for April 2016. Click "READ MORE" to view the agreement.
