Columbia Parks and Recreation Announces 2019 Senior Trips Program
The Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of fun, day for adults age 50 and older through its 2019 Senior Trips Program. Participants will travel to the following locations:
James Brown Historical Tour in Augusta, Ga. CANCELED
WHEN: May 18, 2019
FEE: $45 per person (Price does not include lunch.)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 12, 2019
INFO: This one-day trip will feature a trip to the Augusta Riverwalk for some shopping. Guests will also take a James Brown tour, which includes admission to the Augusta Museum of History.

Sweet Grass Festival in Charleston, SC
WHEN: June 1, 2019
FEE: $30 per person (Price does not include lunch.)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 17, 2019
INFO: The Sweet Grass Festival celebrates the Gullah history, culture, traditions and sweet grass basket-making art form. Enjoy live entertainment, arts and crafts, children's activities, programs and delicious low country foods. Bring your lawn chairs.
Savannah Riverboat Cruise & Shopping in Savannah, Ga.
WHEN: August 6, 2019
FEE: $85 per person (includes lunch)

Carolina Opry Christmas Show in Myrtle Beach, SC
WHEN: November 26, 2019
FEE: $85 per person (includes admission and dinner at Original Benjamin’s Seafood Buffett)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: October 25, 2019
INFO: The Carolina Opry Christmas Show brings the warm, wonderful and fun spirit of Christmas to life with music, comedy and dance.
Holiday Lights & Shopping at Tanger Outlets in Charleston, SC
WHEN: December 10, 2019
FEE: $35 per person (price does not include lunch)
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: November 15, 2019
INFO: Join us for a day of holiday fun and fellowship. Guests will have the opportunity to shop at Tanger Outlets then enjoy a drive through the Festival of Lights on James Island.
The trip fee includes transportation and admission fees. Unless otherwise noted, meals are considered an extra fee and the responsibility of the participant. Full payment is required at the time of registration. Partial payments are only accepted for the Senior Beach Retreat. The charter bus departs from the Charles R. Drew Wellness Center, 2101 Walker Solomon Way, Columbia, SC 29204, unless otherwise noted.
Registrations should be submitted no later than three weeks in advance of the day of the trip, unless otherwise noted. Early registration is advised.
Registration forms are available at all City recreation centers and at the Parks and Recreation Department Administration Office located at 1111 Recreation Drive, Columbia, SC 29201. To find a recreation center near you, visit https://gis.columbiasc.gov/parkfinder/.
Registrations can be made in person at any City recreation center (check or money order only) or at the Parks and Recreation Administration Office (check, cash, debit/credit card or money order). Registrations can be mailed to the Parks and Recreation Department Administration Office. Please make checks payable to the City of Columbia.
